Refund & Cancellation Policy

RR Sols Pty Ltd t/a WattleAddr · ABN 56 672 722 486 · Last updated 4 September 2026

Cancel within 7 days of your first payment on a plan and that payment is refunded, less the value of any heavy use in those days, after we confirm it against the payment received. Cancel later and you keep the plan until the end of the period you have already paid for, then the workspace moves to Free. Your API keys keep working either way.

1. Who this applies to

This policy applies to WattleAddr subscriptions bought self-serve in the console. Enterprise & Government agreements are governed by their own Order Form, and any terms in it override this document.

Shopify merchants. If you subscribed through the WattleAddr Shopify app, Shopify bills you, and any refund is requested from Shopify under its terms. This policy does not apply to you.

Nothing here reduces your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If a service is faulty, or does not do what we said it does, you may be entitled to a refund, repair or replacement regardless of the timeframes below.

2. The 7-day money-back offer on your first payment

If you cancel within 7 days of your first payment on a plan, that payment is refunded. This is our own commercial offer, not a statutory cooling-off period, and it sits on top of your rights under the Australian Consumer Law rather than replacing them.

  • The window runs from the day the payment reaches us, not the day you signed up.
  • It covers your first payment on a plan only. Renewals are not covered, because by then you have used the service for a full period and have had a month to decide.
  • You do not have to give a reason.

Use during the window. The refund is of your plan fee. If, before you cancel, you have used more than 20% of the plan's monthly lookup allowance, we deduct the value of all lookups used in the period, at the plan's overage rate. The deduction can reduce the refund to nil; it never creates an amount you owe. Any overage already invoiced remains payable. The confirmation screen shows the amount you will get back after any deduction, before you commit, and the refund record itemises it.

Every refund is reviewed before it is sent. We check the request against the payment we actually received and against the grounds in "When we may decline a refund" below, and we confirm the amount. Cancelling or deleting in the console starts that review; it does not by itself move money. Where a refund is due, we send it. This review exists so that what we send is right, not to avoid sending it.

Because the payment is being returned, your plan stays active for a further 7 days rather than the rest of the month, so you have time to move your integration. After that the workspace moves to the Free plan.

3. Cancelling after the first 7 days

You can cancel at any time. Cancelling after the first 7 days is not refunded, but nothing is switched off early:

  • Your plan stays active until the end of the billing period you have already paid for.
  • You are not invoiced again for a plan fee. Overage already invoiced remains payable.
  • For the rest of that period, lookups beyond your plan's included allowance are refused rather than billed as overage.
  • At the end of that period the workspace moves to the Free plan.
  • You can reverse the cancellation from the console at any point before that date, unless a refund has already been issued.

4. What happens to your API keys

Nothing is deleted and your API keys are not revoked. When a workspace moves to Free, the keys keep authenticating under the Free allowance of 5,000 billable lookups per month, with no overage. Calls past that allowance are refused rather than billed.

We do this deliberately. This API is often embedded in a checkout or signup form, and switching keys off at midnight would break your site rather than ours. If you want your data and account removed entirely, that is a separate request; see "Deleting a workspace" below.

5. Downgrading instead of cancelling

If you move to a cheaper plan within 7 days of your first payment, the difference between what you paid and the plan you are keeping is refunded, subject to the same usage deduction and review. Outside that window a downgrade takes effect at the start of your next billing period without a refund for the period already paid.

6. How refunds are paid

Refunds are paid by bank transfer to an Australian bank account, in Australian dollars. When you cancel inside the window the console asks for the account to send it to, and we suggest using the account you paid from so the transfer is easy to match. We invoice in Australian dollars only and refund to Australian bank accounts only.

We aim to send refunds within 5 business days of the cancellation, and we will tell you if a review needs longer. Your bank may take a further day or two to show it. We hold the BSB and account number only until the refund has been sent or declined, then delete them, keeping the account name and the last three digits so the payment can be matched against our bank statement.

Refunds are issued for the amount shown on the original tax invoice, less any usage deduction. If your bank charges a fee to receive a transfer, that fee is not something we can reimburse.

Chargebacks. If you raise a chargeback on a card payment we have already agreed to refund, we treat the chargeback as the refund and do not pay it twice. A chargeback on any other payment moves the workspace to Free until the dispute is resolved.

7. GST and adjustment notes

WattleAddr plan prices are displayed inclusive of GST, and the 10% is itemised when the invoice is raised, so the amount refunded is the GST-inclusive amount shown on the tax invoice, less any usage deduction. When we refund a payment we issue an adjustment note, which is the tax document that reverses the GST on the refunded amount. It is emailed to your billing contact and stays available in the console. Keep it with the original invoice for your records.

8. When we may decline a refund

We may decline a refund request where:

  • The 7-day window has passed and the Australian Consumer Law does not otherwise require a refund.
  • The request relates to a renewal rather than a first payment, and the service has been supplied as described.
  • The account was used in breach of the Terms of Service, for example to resell or bulk-extract the address dataset.
  • The same workspace has already been refunded under this policy and has re-subscribed to obtain another refund.

None of these grounds apply where the Australian Consumer Law entitles you to a remedy. In particular, if there has been a major failure in the service, you may cancel and seek a refund at any point in your subscription, including on a renewal, and this policy does not limit that.

If we decline, we tell you why. You can dispute that decision by emailing billing@wattleaddr.com.au, and if we cannot resolve it you retain your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and may complain to the ACCC or your state consumer affairs body.

9. Unpaid invoices

If you cancel inside the 7-day window, we also cancel any plan invoice on the workspace that is still unpaid. You will be told which invoices were cancelled, so you can stop a bank transfer you have already scheduled. An overage invoice for lookups you used is not cancelled.

Outside the window this does not apply. Cancelling does not void an invoice that is already due for a period you have used: that invoice remains payable, and the same is true if you delete the workspace instead of cancelling. Deleting is not a way to walk away from a bill you have already run up.

10. Service failures

This policy covers cancellation. Compensation for availability failures is dealt with separately: Enterprise & Government customers whose Order Form references the SLA may be entitled to service credits, which are described in the SLA.

11. Deleting a workspace

Cancelling stops the billing but keeps the workspace. If you want it gone, the account owner can delete it in the console under Settings, or delete every workspace at once under Account. Deleting is not reversible, so export your search log first if you need it.

Deleting is not the same as cancelling, and the difference matters if you have WattleAddr embedded in a live page:

  • Cancelling leaves your API keys working, on the Free allowance. Nothing breaks.
  • Deleting revokes the workspace's API keys immediately. Anything still calling us with those keys will start failing straight away.
  • Deleting removes the workspace from your account and deletes its search-log text at that moment. It does not remove your invoices or adjustment notes, which we are required to keep, or the usage counts behind them, and it does not close your login.

If you delete a workspace within 7 days of your first payment, you get the same refund as if you had cancelled, and we ask for your bank details at that point so we can send it. You do not have to cancel first, and you do not lose the refund by reaching for Delete instead of Cancel.

To close your login itself, rather than the workspaces under it, email privacy@wattleaddr.com.au from the account owner's address.

12. How to cancel

Cancel in the console under Billing. The confirmation screen tells you before you commit whether the cancellation is refundable, how much you will get back, the date your plan ends, and which unpaid invoices (if any) will be cancelled with it. You can also cancel by emailing billing@wattleaddr.com.au from the account owner's address, and we will treat the date we receive that email as the cancellation date.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The version that applies to a refund is the one published when you made the payment in question. Changes that reduce what you would get back are notified to account owners by email at least 30 days before they take effect.
